Major changes...again
So lets see...I now live in Fenton, MI with my cousin Matt and I have a (already stressful) teaching job but I am still working at the daycare as well. Life is busy. I am trying to move, work, and set up a classroom all at the same time. Things are not going smoothly. For example, my "classroom" used to be the maintenance room of the school. Next year it will be divided into two classrooms but this year I have it all. Sounds great right? Ha. Also the room is not finished yet. The ceiling is leaking so there are no ceiling tiles, a sink is halfway installed and there is no bathroom, just an empty closet where they hope to put a bathroom. Basically I am trying to move into an unfinished room with no furniture yet. Because they don't know what they will have to put into the room yet either. Anybody want to be a classroom volunteer?? Yep I am scared out of my mind. But somewhere under all of that I am a bit excited. The excitement stops as soon as I let myself think about all that I have to teach in the year in a half of a day when all of the other kindergarten classrooms in the district (except one) are full day programs. Yep half the time to teach the same amount of information. Daunting... The district is trying to get rid of the half day programs and hope this will be the last year. Okay then add my afternoon of resource room. Meaning, I get all of the K-4th graders who have special needs. Are you sure you don't want to come out and volunteer for say...the year? Here is a strange thought. Hartland Schools now has two employees with the same middle name and the same birthday. Yep Matt and I.

I am excited you have your new teaching job even though you are having difficulties. I know you will be an excellent teacher!! I am glad I got to see things with you in Michigan so I feel I understand a bit more when you describe locations or people. You should send me your new address---i bought some new books on amazon. I love new books.

so you are doing half a day of kindergarten and half day of resource?
Yep Emily. I am starting to wonder what I have gotten myself into. I read through the folders of my resource kids! Maybe I should have just left them in the box.
you could have picked something easier for your first year!

i think that's a great idea. leave the kids in a box. that will make things much more exciting!!!
