It is freakin hot!!

I feel like I am dying. But at the same time I kinda like it. Today it was 92 with 85% humidity. The low is 70. Yeah, that means freakin hot. I don't understand how the humidity thing works but it sure feel warmer than 92. I like summer. I just need a boat. Our parcel of water is only big enough for the tadpoles.
Plus this is an extremely old farmhouse with no air conditioning and poor ventilation. Oh well some good things did happen this weekend. I was out driving and I had my windows down. At a light a cute old man yelled at me "Hello Idaho!" and then he said "I didn't know they made them so good looking in Idaho". Hee hee...it made me laugh. It was this old guy on a bike who probably could barely see my license plate let alone me. But hey a compliment is a compliment right? My aunt told me about a store I needed to check out this weekend too. It is great! A consignment store where people bring in their old junk to sell. Your garbage is another man's treasure...or something like that. Anyway, I had a lot of fun browsing through all of the stuff and they really did have some great junk. I even bought some. Antique stores are some of my favorite places to shop. And I found a great local ice-cream shop that makes a mean slushie. With a little frozen yogurt on top and the heat didn't seem to be that bad. For about a minute anyway.

Bye Danny

So my cousin left today for the Philippines. He is going to medical school there for the next 3 years. :-( There is my sad face for him. He was pretty busy in the few weeks that he was here in MI but it was nice to spend some time with him. I think he gave me more crap than my brothers have in a long time. But anyway, I will miss having someone around even if he is a boy. Hee hee.

Detroit Tigers

I got to go to my first major league baseball game this season yesterday. A bunch of the family met in Detroit to see the Tigers play the Reds. I have been to many games but not seen either the Reds or the Tigers play before. It was a really good game too. The Tigers were winning until Ken Griffey Jr hit a grand slam to put the Reds up by 1. Then at the bottom of the ninth, a Tiger player hit someone in to tie the score. So they played another inning. The Reds didn't score and the Tigers had 2 outs with someone on first and third at the bottom of the tenth. The batter hit a weak ball to third base and the player threw it to first but it was a bad throw and the first baseman couldn't reach it. So the guy on third ran in to score, winning the game for the TIgers. It was very exciting. After the game there were fireworks that were very impressive considering that they have them on Saturdays after the games. Plus they are right out on the field so they seem louder and really close. All in all, it was a lot of fun and I got to have yummy nachos and super cotton candy, two of my favorite treats even though they cost an arm and a leg and add that much too you as well. The game was the largest crowd the field had ever had as well at 43, 600 and some people. Pretty much sold out I think. Yeah it was fun. Come visit and you can go to a game too!! Oh and tomorrow morning at 9am I have my first "real" interview for a teaching job!

Short Stories

I feel like I haven't posted in a while but a lot has happened so I thought I would write some short stories. I will call my first one...Painting. So my aunt and I decided to paint the hallway upstairs, the stairway, and the laundry room. She wanted a white ceiling and tan-ish walls. I enjoyed painting but thought I might die when I got on a ladder on the stairs to paint the incredibly high ceiling. Remember this is a hundred year old house with narrow creaky scary stairs. My aunt didn't want to do the painting there because she is almost done with the school year and didn't want to start her summer out in a body cast.
Work
I do get pretty decent hours at work but get paid very little. I don't think that I have shared much about work so here is a little bit. I am working with three different groups. The baby room is 11 infants from 3 months to 12 months. You can guess what goes on there. Eat, sleep, and poop. With some screaming thrown in just for fun. If you want to know what a super-mom is, visit the baby room when all 11 kids are there. The transition room and the kids who are a year to about a year-and-a-half. I like this group although it is also crazy because they eat, sleep, and poop a lot. Then the next group is the year-and-a-half to 2-and-a-half kids. These ones are a lot of fun because they can talk! We do all sorts of fun stuff like dance, sing songs, paint, and eat weird food. I think that the "boss" is giving me hours because I can work with all three groups. Some of the other people don't want to work with other groups. I guess that I have plenty of experience huh?
The FLU
Speaking of work, last week we had an interesting day. I was working in the transition room because I brought a 12 month old over to visit. After nap the kids get up, sit at the table, and read books. One little boy had a diarrhea blowout and lucky me, I got to change him. He felt really warm so I checked his temperature. At I was doing that, another little girl threw up on the table. We had spaghetti for lunch, not pretty. So the boy had a temperature of 102 but the girl didn't. We called the little boy's mom to come get him but decided not to call the girl's mom since she didn't have a temperature and seemed to be acting fine. For a few minutes anyway. She threw up again and again and again. Four times in about 45 minutes. It was nasty. Then another girl sat up, started crying and threw up all over herself. Both girls went home. Then another went home for a high fever. And another started throwing up and went home. So we have 8 kids in the room. One is already home sick and 5 go home throwing up or with diarrhea and high fever. It was strange. When I went home, I started throwing up. The next day one more kid was sick. That is how fast germs can spread. And we bleach toys and tables and changers every time we use them. It was crazy. But one of the doctors said that the flu is especially violent and the diarrhea can last up to 10 days!! That is a lot of diapers and not nearly good enough ventilation.
Well I suppose that is enough fun for now.

My favorite flower

I snapped these pictures real quick on the side of the road the other day. Because they are my favorite flower and because Emily is frustrated with her tulips right now. Don't worry Emily, they will come, maybe they just aren't sure about the Idaho weather yet either. :)

TB

So I had to get a TB test for work. I went in to a clinic on Friday and got the shot thing. The bump went away until Sunday when it decided to come back and get red. When I went back in today to get the results checked the nurse paused, looked worried, and called a doctor over to look at it. She said that it was borderline and the doctor said that I should be okay. Should be?? How can you be borderline TB? Isn't that a one-way deal? Positive or negative? So I have to go back if it doesn't go away. Seems a little im-precise to me.
