Starting Over is Scary

I must elaborate. That is what I decided. So here goes...

Today

Assembly to throw everyone's schedule off. One parapro was in the Emergency room last night. Possible blood clot because she fell over a student last week. She is out today and tomorrow. Trying to cover her student and make sure he is okay.

A SUB parapro very worked up because she was bit yesterday. The school made her go to the walk in clinic to get blood drawn for AIDS check and she will also have to get hepatitis shots. Poor lady was subbing in the building for the first time. Hmmmm...will she come back?

Before lunch even started at 11, another parapro is having chest pains and is having trouble breathing. Panic, panic, panic. To the hospital in an ambulance.

Okay 2 students without support. These are not students who can make it around without support. Neither one can answer the question, "What is your name?"

Here comes a kindergarten student who had an accident. Rush her into the bathroom and get her all clean and changed. Good thing I know her mom.

Totally forgot that I have a student who MUST finish taking the state assessment today. It is going in the mail. Rush, rush, rush. Poor kid told me his brain was on fire! Talk about pressure.

A second grade student is crying about being bullied. He says it is a "first grade special needs boy". I know who that is! Dang it all! Another one of my students! Now he claims to be bullied by the second grader. The second grader has autism and the first grader is non-verbal. Hmmmm....which student do you believe? Anyone want to call the parents for me?

My aggressive student pushed a little girl again today. He is not allowed to be in the halls or sitting near other students. His parapro is running ragged.

The principal isn't even in the building today. SO much for some help there!

Let's throw in a meeting or two. Why not? The day isn't full enough.

Start again tomorrow.
