what a way to start

Last year, I had a rough start to the school year. Upset parents, meetings, crazy schedules, confused teachers, disagreements, etc. I thought that was incredibly difficult.

I had no idea what this year would bring.

Screaming kids, upset parents, meetings, medically fragile, feeding tubes, diapers, confused teachers, disagreements, angry paraprofessionals, crazy schedules, running, kicking, medications, spitting, nurses, etc.

I am tired, angry, frustrated, stressed, and confused about what to do next.

This isn't exactly the best way to update but this is what is going on.

It is going to be a long year........

However, I decided that I would try to post funny things that happen at school. Gotta find something good to focus on, right!

Funny this week:

A kindergarten student, who is struggling listening and following directions, was asked to sit in a chair in class. We use picture cards to reinforce expectations.
She looked at the picture and said "Sit.............damn" and then got up to sit in the chair. Positive reinforcement given for following directions and adults heads turned away so she couldn't see us struggling not to laugh.

go get 'em erin...sounds like it could be a challenging year, but i know you can do it! it'll be rewarding, too. it sounds like you'll probably need a relaxing trip to idaho sometime to get your bearings...hmmm, i think i know some people with a house in the boonies that would love to let you "retreat" :)

You and Fawn should have weekly venting sessions... sounds like the starts to your years are pretty similar.
