2007
2007 means that I have almost been in MI for a year. I have a hard time believing that. This last year has gone very fast and at the same time it was painfully slow. While I was out ringing in 2007 I was thinking about all of the past years that we rang in the new year in ID. Our "parties" at someone's house. Some years we had a blast, other years we just got together because it was New Year's. Remember the year that we played outside in the snow and had to watch the ball drop on Pacific time because we missed it at midnight Mountain Time? Or dancing the night away at Em and Jeff's reception and then eating leftover spinach dip back at the house and falling asleep on the couch? Or last year when I knew I was moving and it was kind of a time for me to see people for the last time? I had fun going out this year. It just wasn't the same. I celebrated New Year amidst a lot of strangers rather than just among close friends. Different. Interesting. But it made me think.
