Snow days
Right now I am sitting on the couch in the living room watching Flags of our Fathers. I should be at school but we are on our second snow day in a row. I should say our second Hazardous Road Conditions day in a row. We have had 4 snow days since we got back from Christmas break. In fact today is the last snow day build into our schedule. If we need to take any more snow days this year we will have to start making them up. Last year we used 3 days after this point in the year. I really dont want to make up days in June since we already get out so late but I must say sitting on the couch watching a movie on a Wednesday and a Thursday is very nice. Last week we had a snow day called on Friday and the 3 days weekend was wonderful. We did get a lot of snow. The news said that the road were too dangerous for the snow plows to drive on last night so they weren't even going to try to plow any roads except the interstate. A lot of people were stranded on the roads. I am glad I didn't go anywhere. Even though that meant that I ate Easy Mac for dinner.

As a kid I remember snow days being one of the best things...I think all jobs should have them too. And they can be announced with the school closures.

I agree. We shouldn't have to go to work if the kids get a snow day. We've actually had quite a bit of snow here for Pocatello, but it's more the 50-60 mile an hour winds that has made it dangerous.
reminds me of some of the stories Garrison Keeler tells on Prairie Home Companion about getting snowed in. living off canned food. wondering if civilization is even out there. building a tunnel from your house to get outside. LOL.
